THEME: LANGUAGE LEARNING IN ENGLISH MEDIUM CONTEXTS IN AFRICA

We are pleased to invite you to attend the BAAL Language in Africa SIG Annual Meeting scheduled to take place at University of Bristol, Bristol, England, from 21st-22nd May, 2010. The objective of this meeting is to enable LiA SIG members and other scholars interested in language in Africa issues to get together, present their research, and discuss current issues related to language learning in English medium contexts in Africa. The keynote speakers for the meeting will be Dr. Marriote Ngwaru (National Centre for Language and Literacy) and Professor Pauline Rea-Dickins (Institute of Educational Development, East Africa/University of Bristol).  

Presentations can focus on any theme-related topic. 

Abstracts written in English of max 300 words (with bibliographical references) for a 30 minute paper should be sent by 20th March 2010 to Oksana.Afitska@bristol.ac.uk. The preferred formats are .doc and .pdf. Authors of accepted abstracts will be notified by 10th April 2010.
